This privacy notice explains how souksense (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit souksense.com or sign up for early access to our products. It is written to meet our obligations under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).
01Who we are
souksense is the data controller for the personal data we collect through this website.
- Company
- souksense, Inc. — a Delaware corporation, United States
- Registered address
- 1111B S Grosvenors Ave, Dover, DE 19904, USA
- Privacy contact
- hello@souksense.com
We do not currently have a UK or EU establishment. If we determine that one is required under UK GDPR Article 27 or EU GDPR Article 27, we will appoint a representative and update this notice.
02What we collect
When you submit the early access form on our homepage, we collect:
- Your email address — to contact you about ZeroDrift’s launch and early-access programme.
When you submit the careers interest form, we collect:
- Your name, email address, LinkedIn URL, and area of interest — so we can reach out about open roles that match your background.
We also collect anonymous, aggregate statistics about how the site is used, described in Analytics (section 03) below. We do not use advertising pixels or cross-site tracking technologies on this website. If that changes in future, we will update this notice and request your consent where required under PECR.
03Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to understand how this site is used in aggregate: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive (for example, from a search engine or a link on another site), which country they visit from, and what kind of device they use.
Plausible is a privacy-focused service. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and it cannot identify you or follow you across other websites. Your IP address is used only transiently to count unique visitors within a single day and is never stored. Everything we see is aggregate (for example, how many people visited a page this week), never a profile of an individual.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in understanding whether the website is doing its job. Because Plausible stores nothing on your device and reads nothing from it, PECR does not require us to request consent for it.
Plausible Analytics is operated by Plausible Insights OÜ, a company based in Estonia. All analytics data is processed and stored within the EU. Aggregate statistics are retained for 3 years.
If you would rather not be counted at all, you can switch analytics off for this browser. The setting is stored only in your browser; while it is off, no information about your visits is sent to Plausible.
04Why we collect it
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. The basis depends on the purpose:
| Purpose | Lawful basis (UK GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|
| Notify you about ZeroDrift's launch and early-access programme | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Respond to your interest in joining the souksense team | Your consent |
| Respond to direct enquiries you send to us | Legitimate interest in responding to communications you initiated (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
You can withdraw your consent at any time. See Your rights below.
05Who we share it with
We use the following processor to handle your data on our behalf:
- Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) — we use Resend to store your waitlist email address or careers application details, to send you the signup or application confirmation, and, in future, the Zero Drift launch announcement. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in every such email.
- Plausible Insights OÜ (Plausible Analytics): hosts the aggregate site-usage statistics described in Analytics (section 03). This data contains no names, email addresses, or other personal identifiers, and stays within the EU.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
06International transfers
souksense is incorporated in the United States. Our processor (Resend) operates data centres in multiple jurisdictions, which may include the United States.
Where personal data of UK residents is transferred outside the UK, we rely on:
- The UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (the “UK-US Data Bridge”), under which Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) is certified, providing protections deemed adequate by the UK government; and
- Where required, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
Analytics data (see Analytics, section 03) is processed and stored within the EU by Plausible and is not transferred to the United States.
07How long we keep it
- Waitlist submissions: retained until you ask us to delete them, or for up to 2 years after ZeroDrift’s general availability, whichever is sooner.
- Careers submissions: retained for up to 12 months from submission, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Enquiries: retained for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards (typically 12 months).
08How we keep it safe
We use the built-in security controls of our infrastructure provider (Resend). Access to waitlist and careers data is limited to souksense team members who need it. We require multi-factor authentication on all accounts that can access personal data.
09Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Object — object to our use of your data.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@souksense.com. We will respond within one calendar month of receiving your request.
10Right to complain
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office:
- Web: ico.org.uk
- Phone: 0303 123 1113
- Post: Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, United Kingdom
We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first — please contact hello@souksense.com before involving the ICO.
11Automated decision-making
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
12Visitors outside the UK
This notice is written to UK standards, and we apply the same protections to every visitor, wherever you are. For visitors in the EU/EEA, we honour the equivalent rights under the EU GDPR.
For visitors from the United States: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we extend the rights in Your rights to all visitors on request. Our analytics does not identify or track individuals, so the site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. You can also exclude yourself from analytics entirely using the switch in Analytics (section 03).
13Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to people on our waitlist by email before they take effect.
